Despite dreams, idle auto plants stay that way

The old General Motors auto plant is slowly being taken apart to make room for the new Tinker Aerospace Complex, in Oklahoma City. Three out of five automotive plants closed since 1980 remain that way.Henry Ford’s great-grandson arrived at the shuttered auto plant to brag about a plan to revive the vast empty space: Investors would transform it into a modern factory.
